COMMUNITY REPORTER PROGRAM

Launch at ICFP 2022 in Thailand
FPNN was introduced as a ‘POP UP’ news station during the International Conference on Family Planning 2022 (ICFP 2022) held in Thailand. It served as a platform to broadcast discussions, insights, and developments from the conference to the broader audience. This initial launch aimed to capture critical conversations and translate them into digital content for the attendees, numbering over 40,000.

Evolution into a Media Network
Following its debut in 2022, FPNN evolved into a diverse network of seasoned journalists, community influencers, content creators, and FP/SRHR experts dedicated to reporting and elevating the transformative power of family planning and SRHR. This organic expansion facilitated ongoing coverage beyond the conference and fostered a community committed to advancing these crucial issues, through journalism and community reporting.

Community Reporting Program
The Community Reporting Program was developed to harness the potential of the FPNN platform. It empowers individuals interested in civic journalism, community reporting and organizational communication to contribute their perspectives on FP and SRHR topics. It taps into the local experiences and lived realities as reliable sources of news.

This program offers multiple opportunities for participation, including access to reporting grants from the FPNN Community Reporting Fund.

FPNN Community Reporting Fund
Recognizing the importance of compensating journalists and content creators for their contributions, FPNN established a fund to support community reporters and civic journalists. The fund aims to democratize coverage by providing financial support to those who may lack the necessary resources or who don’t have compensation from an organization or project.

Once an individual is accredited as a Community Reporter, they are able to apply to apply to the fund to support their coverage.
