Nigeria stands to reap a significant N18 billion investment through increased family planning adoption, according to health experts. This investment is expected to aid in the fight against widespread socioeconomic depression, aligning with the Association for the Advancement of Family Planning (AAFP) goal of meeting contraceptive prevalence rate targets and the FP2030 goals. A comprehensive plan is already in place to address the interconnected challenges of socioeconomic depression, poverty, and insecurity. CHIOMA UMEHA writes
Family planning has been identified as a low-hanging fruit that, if Nigeria harvests it, could result in multibillion-naira gains. The Association for Advancement of Family Planning (AAFP) believes that through sustained advocacy and financing, the country can increase contraceptive use, reduce fertility rates, and effectively address the pressing issue of overpopulation.
